Skin Lesions
There are many different types of lesions or growths that can occur on the skin. Some of these lesions are malignant (cancerous) or pre-cancerous and can spread to other parts of the body. Many times, a biopsy or removal of the entire skin lesion is needed to diagnose the growth. Other skin lesions can be painful or cause cosmetic problems. Removal of skin lesions are very common operations we perform.
COMMON SYMPTOMS of Concerning Lesions

COMMON TESTS
You may need lab work or imaging studies such as an ultrasound, MRI or CT scan before your operation. You may need a biopsy or removal of a part of the lesion before the entire lesion is removed.
Skin Lesion REMOVAL SURGERY
An incision is made near the site of the lesion and the growth or area of skin is removed. The skin is closed with stitches or surgical glue. The operation usually takes less than an hour. Patients usually go home the same day of the operation.
