Mass Removal
There are many types of masses that can occur on different parts of the body. We regularly remove lipomas or fatty masses, cysts and other lumps and bumps. Sometimes these masses can get infected or cause pain. Mass removal operations are one of the most common operations that we perform.
COMMON SYMPTOMS
- Pain or discomfort at the area of the mass
- Drainage or infection
- Redness or changes in skin color
- Limited range of motion
COMMON TESTS
You may need lab work or imaging studies such as an ultrasound, MRI or CT scan before your operation.
MASS REMOVAL SURGERY
An incision is made near the mass site and the mass is removed. The skin is closed with stitches or surgical glue. The operation usually takes less than an hour. Patients usually go home the same day of the operation.
